Ok,
This time I have a bunch of files that have file names where I want to remove the first 3 characters - and the characters are all different, but numeric.
ex. 101songname,102songname1, etc. the problem is there is no space between the first 3 characters and the song name.
I tried 1** as wild card, but that didn't do it. Is there a solution for this so that the file name will just be : songname, songname1, etc.

Ok - figured out a way, but maybe not the best - still would like to hear if there is an easier way. What I did was exported the 68files - title only using filename in the create list function. Then opened the list in Word. Word lets you highlight columns of single or multiple characters (in this case 3) by first holding down the alt key and then moving over (again 3 char in this case) and then down the rows. So with the first 3 characters all highlighted I just deleted en masse and saved the file as a text file and then "created title" from a list - the one I just created - took about 5 minutes. BTW - you can take out a series of characters in the middle of a list or any where using the alt key before starting to highlight.
