Hi! I upgraded to the latest Mp3/Tag Studio 3.05, uncrippled trial version with banner. My operating system is WIN98 SE. I earlier used the 2.x version which worked just fine (thanxx!!;) This new upgarde was installed over it.

The program starts after the normal "flickering" but when inserting some parameters or expecially when changing the working directory the computer immediately and repeatedly crashes (tried the dirtree compability fix too, doesn't help).
First the blue screen and notification "A fatal eception 0E has occurred at 0167:BFF74507" appers, then after hitting enter
"Mp3tag_s caused a general protection fault in module User.exe at 0006:00001eff". After this the whole operating system becomes unstable and eventually hangs.

I uninstalled the trial version with banner and put the limited trial version (3.05) without banner instad and it runs just fine. Could the banner ad have something to do with the crashing? Does it reguire a new internet Explorer or java update?? Also now the previous ad version which earlier worked fine is crashing too... Any suggestions?

I have never heard about anything like this before. :( Judging from your description, with the earlier working versions now crashing too, it might very likely be a problem local to your system. The ad banner is just a static gif image, and should have nothing to do with Internet Explorer or any other outside dependencies. It also wouldn't crash in connection to changing working dir if it had something to do with the banner, since the two are completely unrelated. I'm very sorry to be unable to be of more assistance, but if the problem is indeed in your operating system there is not much I can do. :(

Did anyone else here ever see anything like this?
