Hi there

Running Mp3TS 3.5 b22 on Windows 7 64 bits
Since I have moved to Win 7, mp3ts has a very annoying bug: I use to do mass tagging (1000+ files) from file names
Randomly (at least apparently), some tags are incomplete or not filled in at all (rare)
In the preview window, everything is ok

Sometimes I need to run the same "Auto tag from file name" 3-4 times before every tag is properly filled in
I have noticed that this behavior happens rarely when tagging a small number of mp3s (10-20 files)
See screen copy (I have many examples of this)
Any clue ?

Thanks

PS: I forgot to mention that Mp3TS sometimes throws a "I/O error 103". When this happens, I simply restart the program

It sounds extremely strange that it works sometimes on the same file, and sometimes not, was this the case you said?

I have never had anything like this reported from anyone else before in the entire history of Mp3/Tag Studio.

Also, you mentioned some screen copy, but I cannot see one?

It IS extremely strange indeed... there must be a ghost in the machine :)
This is happening since months, but I really wanted to be sure before posting
I have the screen copies and the mp3 files at hand (tagged ONCE only)

The attachment failed because the zipped file containing the screen copies was too big
I have posted the screen copies Google and I'm in the process of uploading all the mp3 as well (4 CDs)

Hope this helps

Judging from your screenshots, my guess would be that the affected files only have ID3v1 tags, and that for some reason (e.g. your Mp3/Tag Studio configuration) you are not writing ID3v2 tags to them at all?

You can see in the browse tab in Mp3/Tag Studio if a file has ID3v1 or ID3v2 tags (or both), when selecting the individual files.

well, to make sure the files are tagged exactly how I want them to be tagged, I always completely clean v1 & v2 tags before tagging from file name

Also, the question remains: for which reason would it not happen to every file...
Anyhow, do not spend/waste too much time on this as I'm apparently the only one suffering from this behaviour
I can live with it!

Cheers

Looks reasonable enough but is there a quick work around on this one already?
