-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Bug deleted my mp3 started by cletus Posted by: cletus on Dec. 11 2004,23:17 I lost a mp3 to this bug and have been testing it. I lost the mp3 using the last version and I've been trying to recreate it with version 3.5. This was what happened when I tried to duplicate the same bug on version 3.5. It still deleted my song but there is a slight difference from the first time. I was under the tab "Browse/Edit tags & Flags". I right-clicked on a song and selected "case fix filename (as one string...)". The file name was already capitalized correctly. A dialog window popped up asking "File with that name already exists, overwrite?". I clicked on yes and another window popped up saying "Unable to rename file!". I looked on the desktop where I put the mp3 and it had been deleted. Normally this wouldn't be a problem since I wouldn't try to casefix files with correct capitalization. However, the first time this happened I was trying to casefix a file without proper capitalized words. I can't seem to duplicate it though. The first time this happened there was no tag on the song. I tried testing with and without tags on another mp3 but casefix worked correctly when the filename was not correctly capitalized and deleted the mp3 when the filename was capitalized. This might be because I used the new version to test.
