Hi,
I found this site/software by searching on organizing itunes library.  I've got many unlabeled mp3 files; some of which are currently referenced in playlists.

I don't yet understand about this software, where does it get the data that it uses to update mp3 files?  Is there a database?  I'd seen another software claiming to ####yze each file and then filling in the information, based on the DNA ####ysis.

How does this software work (basically)?  If it modifies a file that is currently referenced in an itunes playlist, will that make the song unrecognized by itunes?

Any feedback appreciated.  Forgive me if I'm a newbie at managing mp3s.

Thanks!

There is something called "tags" inside many mp3 files, which can contain a lot of info about the artist, title, album and other things.

This is where the information is taken from when you rename files.

It can also take the information from the file names themselves, or from a text file that you have.

No databases, online or otherwise, are involved though.

Thanks for the advice, I have so many mp3 files but unable to find out the artist and the labels, what should I do?

I guess it should be worth a try then.  Worst case, it wouldn't be able to pull any information.  But maybe many of the files could be improved, so far as data is concerned.  I will give this further attention and possibly try it out as soon as time permits.

Thanks for the reply.

Or you can do a right click and hit on properties then you can edit some.
