Please note that I have Primary ID3 version set to v2 in the "Tagging core settings" (in case that matters).

I also use "Advanced mode" and the "File row format:" that I use is:

<Artist>~<Album>~<TrackNr>~<Title>~<Year>~<Genre>~
<Comment>~<Filepath absolute>

I did some testing a I believe that I learned that when I create a text file using "Create custom lists" the output is strictly tag attributes from the v2 tags.  No information about the v1 tags seems to get exported.

Does that sound correct?  Anything else that you think I should know about this feature?

Yes, this is exactly what the "Primary ID3 version" setting is about. It will use all fields from the primary ID3 version tag, and only fall back to the other version of the tag if the primary version does not exist.

This is a very efficient way to keep the different tag versions in sync.
