How can I check my IE favourites for 'Unicode' characters before I use Bookmark Converter?

Is there a program that will process the names and highlight or list those that contain Unicode characters?

I'm not familiar with any such program, but it is planned to build in this functionality into Bookmark Converter in a future update.

Thanks Magnus. I look forward to the update that has that feature.

The Bookmark Converter Help file says, "Bookmark Converter does not support Internet Explorer favorites (or folders) that contain Unicode characters...Such favorites and folders will be skipped during processing." This suggests that the favorite or folder will NOT be converted. If this is the case, then favorites or folders with Unicode characters will disappear after a copy and a synchronisation.

Do the favorites (or folders) disappear or do you just omit or insert a substitute character for the Unicode character?

In my first test copy I was warned that there was a favorite or folder with a Unicode character but I have no idea where it is, and if it has been 'skipped' then eventually it will get lost.

Bookmark Converter is just what I've been looking for and I will register tomorrow.

During conversion Unicode favorites are left out. This does not mean that they are removed during synchronization though, they are just not transferred to the other browser types.

And I'm glad you like Bookmark Converter. :)
