-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: How can I get ID3v2 tags written to a list? started by calberga Posted by: calberga on July 03 2003,16:06 I have a number of files containing ID3v2 tags, specifically "Composer". I am trying to export tags to text files, to be imported into a data-base program and I need (well, want) the composer included. I have not found any way to get this tag exported. If I were not using "Comment" I could used "Direct Tag Manipulation" to move the "Composer" -> "Comment", but I to avoid the loss of data I would have to copy all the files, move the tag information and do two export/imports. Is there some simpler way to accomplish this? Posted by: Disposable Hero on July 03 2003,20:53 I'm assuming that you are using the "Create custom list" tab... If you check the "Advanced mode" checkbox on that tab you can enter additional ID3 tags manually. Once you check that box, note the capitalized word "HERE". Click on that, it will open the help file to information about advanced mode operation. If you click the link at the end of the second paragraph ("You can read more about using these fields here.") it will display a list of special ID3v2 tag codes and their descriptions - Composer is at the top of that list. You should be able to copy and paste the tag codes into the string you're building on the custom list tab. Hope this helps. Posted by: calberga on July 03 2003,21:58 Wonderful! Missed that completely. Posted by: Magnus Brading on July 03 2003,22:11 When in advanced mode, in any of the tools, you can also always right-click the template field to bring up a list of all possible fields for that tool. For the list tool, you will find all ID3v2 text fields there, including their descriptions. You can then click these fields to insert them at the current cursor position in the template. Posted by: Disposable Hero on July 04 2003,22:47 That's a pretty sweet feature, Magnus. I don't do much with Advanced Mode after I've built some presets, so I never noticed :P Posted by: squeek on July 12 2003,00:55 Is there a way to put "Create custom lists" templates into the shell extension ? thx Posted by: squeek on July 12 2003,01:57 I think i've partially found how to do it, but i need some help -I guess "executable path" is just the "mp3tag_s.exe" full path. ![]() -I just put "%FILE% in the parameters (same output path as the working path ?) -but i dont know what to type in the "command name". Thank you (<Artist> ; <TrackNr> ; <Title> ; <Length> is what i want to insert in the shell extension) Posted by: Magnus Brading on July 12 2003,14:03 No, it's currently not possible to create lists directly from the shell extension. ![]() But don't despair! As we speak (and I really mean as we speak, I had to alt-tab out of Delphi to post this ![]() ![]() Check back soon, I'm telling you, you don't wanna miss this... ![]() Posted by: squeek on July 13 2003,02:27 ok, cool ![]() THX for this awesome soft ! end |
