hi!
cannot live without this program, thank u marcus
but since around version 3.0 i can no longer easily stop MP3TS from changing the case of certain excluded words, eg, DJ is always changed to Dj, LL to Ll etc

it's driving me crazy, i just can't figure out the altered scheme for exceptions, any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm not completely sure what you mean, but if you e.g. always want to keep "DJ" in uppercase, use the substring replacements settings of the casefix tool, and add a replacement entry that changes "dj " to "DJ ", using the "after casefix" and "not case sensitive" options.

And the name is Magnus by the way... :)

thanks magnus

sorry bout the name thingy... :ashamed:

yes, i think we are talking 'bout the same thing...

the older versions of the programs had the ability to just ignore words like DJ so eg asking MP3TS to auto-retag 'DJ Dangermouse - The Grey Album.mp3' from filename didn't get the artist tagged to 'Dj Dangermouse' which is what i am trying to avoid

Hmm, are you sure you remember this correctly, and don't think of some other software or anything like that? There has never been any casefix options removed.

Thanks very much Magnus, that does the trick.

What I remember (honestly, it's MP3TS!;) was in the older version before the 'much more powerful parsing features etc.' with all the big fancy words like 'compunding atoms' and stuff

I could just type in 'DJ' in a box and it was not case changed. instead now there is a 'not to be capitalised box' but if i put 'DJ' into that box it still becomes 'Dj'
