Hi,

I have a file tagged with "Obi-Wan's revelation" in the title field.

I want to rename this file (amoungst others in the directory) from the tag, and I'm using the case-fix tool, where I'm using the advanced option to capitalize ALL words according to the rules I entered below.

It is no problem to get the word "revelation" to "Revelation", but I can't find any rule to keep the word "Obi-Wan" with a capitalized "W" after the "-".

It is always converted to "Obi-wan"!

Finally I'm having none of the rule-options containing anything with the character "-", after trying it in each and every field of the rule options...

Which rule do I have to set to get it finally working, or isn't there any way to do that?

Thanks,

Michael

Actually, the default capitalization settings (i.e. the default settings for the "Advanced" capitalization mode) will do it the way you want, i.e. "Obi-Wan".

The key setting resulting in this is the inclusion of the dash (-) in the "Compounding atoms" list.

Currently I don't have any entries in the box of compunding atoms, but it doesn't work.

I don't have the dash neither in any of the case fix settings, nor in any of the replacement settings, but it doesn't work like "Obi-Wan". It's always set to "Obi-wan" when I use the advanced capitalization rules.

Please find my current settings *.csf-file as attachment...

Thanks,
Michael

Yes, but that's what I said, in the default rules the dash is in the compounding atoms list, and this is what makes it work the way you want. Please use the default settings in the program and it will work.

(these default settings are also included as a case fix preset when you install the program)

Sorry, this is really weird... now it works, as you said, when I put the dash into the "compunding atoms" box.

I tried it in all ways during the last days (puting it INTO each box, one after another, deleting it FROM each box, one after another, several combinations...) and nothing worked :(

Only now, when you spoke these magical words, I guess your program heard its master's voice, and it works

I really don't know why it didn't work during my last attempts... so just ignore all this  :ashamed:

Thanks for your help anyway, without it I surely would have despaired of this problem...

Hehe, I'm glad it worked out for you. :)
(and sorry for the delayed answer, just back from a one week vacation)
