Despite their "Switch" ad campaign (which inextricably links Apple to people who should not be allowed to drive, much less use computers, IMO) I am fascinated by the idea of a Unix distro with groovy UI.

Has anyone played with OSX? I'd appreciate comments. I would not give up my PC, since replacing all my software would be perversely expensive (and in many cases impossible). But if they move their HW over to the forthcoming Power4 processors, they might be back in the performance race. Again, thoughts appreciated  :)

I know several "Unix hacker" friends who actually like it quite a lot, because of the underlying Unix system. That was probably quite a good move from Mac's side. I never really used it myself though, but from what I've seen, they've sure spent a lot of time making cool animated effects for the GUI anyway. :)
