Do I have to be running a registered version of MP3 Tag Studio to create a Macro?

I have not registered (sorry).
I'm running MP3 Tag Studio version 3.5 (Beta 20).
I use MP3 Tag Studio to delete garbage tags from my collection of MP3 files. Tags such as PRIV and NCON.

I would like to create a MACRO that finds a Comment (COMM) field with:
Frame contents: "Sj" (without the quotes of course)
and
Content Description: "MusicMatch_Mood" (again no quotes)
and then deletes that COMM field, but leaves all other COMM fields alone.

Thanks for your help.

All functions of the program are available in the unregistered mode too. Simply record the desired actions into a macro, and save it.

The special comment field operations you are describing aren't available in the program to begin with though, so you won't be able to create a macro with them either, sorry about that.

Using MP3 Tag Studio I can manually delete the COMM frames I don't want. I think what you are telling me is that I can not do that "automatically" via a macro.

I click on Record a macro and then delete a COMM frame, then click stop recording. MP3 Tag Studio does not give me the option to save my macro. I guess my problem is that I haven't actually recorded any macro steps that MP3 Tag Studio can capture. Is that right?

Yes, the special manual editing operations are not macro-enabled, since the macro recording would never be able to tell why you chose exactly the fields you did for editing, and thus, the operation can not be automated for other files anyway.

Just as you say, the macros only support operations that can be automated (which is everything except the manual editing features of the browse tool), since this is the whole idea with macros.
end
