First off, this is an excellent program for what I've used it for so far, and is very easy to navigate/use. The only problem I have with it is the lack of online tag support. Other programs search things like amazon or freedb and let you choose what (if any) you want to use to update your tracks. If the Mp3/Tag program had that, I'd never have a use for anything else. But for now using this in combination with another tagger program is great, as this is *way* easier to use than most others.

I'm glad you like Mp3/Tag Studio. This feature might be implemented in a future version, but since you'd still have to first import the tags from the net, and then fix them up afterwards as a separate step, using a different import program might not be that much more hard or time consuming after all, and this put into the perspective of the implementation effort of such a feature is what has been stopping it. But stay tuned, you never know... :)

i personally have been waiting for the very same feature.  part of the problem is that alot of the online tag searching programs have a complex algorithm and even then only take the first possible match and a few others to show you, the hardest part is that a file named bob - bob's song.mp3 might show up on 2 of bob's albums or worse 3 or 4, and which one is which?  an option would be to have the auto - tagging progam check to see if the program that ripped the original mp3 file appended a cddb tag id or cdvolumeid to the tag sometimes at the bottom and then that auto - tagger can lookup that same cd and titles on that cd to and voila, its just a shame that not alot of people when originally ripping their cd's have that info appended to their songs, i know i didnt at first till i realized that its handy if never actually knowing its there it will help out big time someday.

I'd like to add my request for online tag searching.  I've had a moderate amount of success with ID3-TagIT and freedb.org, but ID3-TagIT really isn't a very friendly program and its interface to freedb.org is very limited.

I'd love to see a drill-down type of tag searching feature..where one could enter, say, an artist's name and either an album name or file name and get a list of possible matches from which to narrow the search.  I realize that ID3-TagIT does some of this, but to repeat myself, it really isn't very friendly and is prone to blowing up with unhandled exceptions.

I also realize that this could turn into a very large feature to implement.  But it would be a great enhancement to a wonderful program that I use very frequently.  I have no Idea how I ever got along without TS.  It's one of my most used tools, since I try to keep my mp3 library well tagged, named and documented.

Thanks in advance,
