Mp3/Tag Studio has suddenly started to act oddly.  In particular, any right-clicks on directory names in the Explorer Browse Tree at the left results in random error messages, "Privileged Instruction", "Access violation...", I think one other.  Also, once, a directory got "stuck" selected, and even if I selected another one the first's files showed up in the "Browse/Edit" tab, and both directories were high-lighted.

So, I thought I would uninstall and reinstall the program.  No luck. Using "Add or Remove Programs" from the control panel gives me an error message:

The "box below" contains:

However I cannot find any such .msi file on my machine.  I tried reinstalling the program on top of the current one, but it attempted to uninstall in too, and resulted in the same error.

What do I do now, doctor?

The "Windows Installer" system (which is what handles installs and uninstalls of standard MSI packaged applications in Windows) is out of reach and control for the applications themselves.

Something (else than Mp3/Tag Studio) has seemingly corrupted your Windows Installer MSI cache (or some other aspect of Windows Installer), and there is sadly nothing that either I or Mp3/Tag Studio can do about it (or had to do with it in the first place). :(

As long as the Mp3/Tag Studio executables (i.e. all copies of "mp3tag_s.exe" and "Mp3tsshx.dll" you can find in the computer) or the Mp3/Tag Studio main config file (mp3ts.dat) haven't been corrupted, an uninstall shouldn't really help anything though, and the problem is most likely instead a result of something completely different (possibly the same problem that corrupted your MSI cache, perhaps some kind of virus?).

I was never blaming Mp3/Tag Studio, I was hoping for some way to deep-six the copy I have currently installed and install a fresh one.  Oh well.

I guess this is a current limitation but nothing really big to be a deal breaker.
