Hi Magnus, first of all, thanks for a spectacular program!!!
I've been tinkering arond for some time now with MTS, and I've come across the <Length> and <Bitrate> "tags" when renaming files. It helps me to distinguish versions of the same song, or better yet, which song or album has been encoded at a better bitrate than, say a similar set of files that have been acquired. Now onto the meat of this....
When using the <Bitrate> "tag", it puts, for example, "160 kbps" in the filename (CBR). Is there any way to drop the "kbps" , and have it place just "160" in the filename? Also for a VBR encoded file, it puts "VBR (~155)." Can this be shortened to just "~155"? The tilde lets me know that the file was encoded at a variable bitrate.
Also, is there a way to populate the TLEN or TIME fields from the <Length> attribute when Mass setting tags/flags?

There is currently no direct way of removing the undesired parts of the bitrate field, but you can easily do it with an additional "Direct rename files" sweep right after the auto rename sweep.
The same goes for your second question, not possible in one sweep, but easily accomplished by first creating a list with the list maker tool and then importing the data to the tags with the "Tag/rename from list" tool.
In the upcoming new version of Mp3/Tag Studio both these things (and practically anything else) will be possible in one single sweep though, stay tuned...

A great response in record time. And yes, the renaming works VERY well, although I have to do 2 sweeps, which are painless in themselves. I only have to be careful to use the CBR template versus the VBR template when using the Direct renaming:
Constant Bit Rate:
<Artist> - <Year> - <Album> - <TrackNr> - <Title> - [<Custom1> kbps - <Custom2>].mp3
Variable Bit Rate:
<Artist> - <Year> - <Album> - <TrackNr> - <Title> - [VBR (<Custom1>) - <Custom2>].mp3
To:
<Artist> - <Year> - <Album> - <TrackNr> - <Title> - [<Custom1> - <Custom2>].mp3

In the new upcoming version of Mp3/Tag Studio, you will be able to it all in a single sweep, including both the VBR and CBR ones...

Lonelon2000, < Mp3InfoExtension > might be something you'd find handy.
It changes the icon in Windows Explorer acording to the bitrate!
I found it last week, and I love it.
