I'm sure that this is simple and I'm just overlooking something. I have some files whose Artist field contents are like so:
<TrackNr> <Artist>
I just want the <Artist> content, so I want to remove the first 3 chars from the Artist field. Please help me through my "brain freeze"  :p

This is where the earlier discussed "super advanced mode" of the direct tag manipulation tool would be used if it was implemented. Sadly, it is not implemented right now, so you'll have to do it with a two-step process, by first making a list with the template "<Artist>", and then import this list with template "<TrackNr> <Artist>".

Hopefully this will not take too many seconds extra, although it would be more nice and clean with one single step, I know. :)

Thanks Magnus. I am definitely looking forward to
<TRASH:2> <Artist>
and similar for direct tag manipulation. It seems a lot more likely than getting everyone else to tag properly  :D
