I have just installed MP3Tag Studio.

As soon as I launch the program each time the following error message appears:

"Error reading main datafile, using defaults"

I click on OK and the program opens.  However from that point forward the mouse cursor is an hourglass...

What happens if you restart the program? This error message normally appears when the main data file has been corrupted, or when it has got too restrictive access settings applied to it.

If Mp3/Tag Studio has write permissions to this file (i.e. mp3ts.dat in the installed program folder), it should create a new file for you as soon as you restart the program.

No matter how many times I restarted the program and my computer itself the problem persisted.

However after reading your message I renamed MP3TS.DAT to MP3TS.OLD and restarted the program.  It recreated the file and everything works fine now.

Thanks!
