Hi Magnus,

I have found a problem.

I have just installed Vista 64 bit (UK, with Danish language pack, but running in english).

I can install mp3 tag studio version 3,5 (beta 18), then upgrade to beta 19. However mp3 tag studio doesn't show up in context menu in Vista.

I most of often used mp3 tag studio when I looked at the mp3 file and then right clicket and used the mp3 tag studio in the context menu.

So I have tried to use OPEN WITH and added mp3 tag studio. This gives me this error:

mp3/tag studio mommand-line error:
Unknown non-switch argument (c:\users\leif andersen\music\mm jukebox plus upgrade.mp3) before first switch argument on command-line.

Please refer to the help file for more info about using the command-line mode.

Is there any way, maybe manually I can ad the context to the context menu??

Regards Leif.

Yes, it is a known problem that the context menu (shell extension) does not work correctly in 64-bit Windows Vista. Sadly, I don't have any possibility to debug this problem in that kind of environment myself at the moment, so I won't be able to take a look at it until I have this.

The following thread might help you to get it working manually though:

I'm having exactly the same problem with 3.5 Beta 20 (registered version) and Vista 64 Ultimate - No MP3TagStudio in the windows explorer shell (right-click) menu.

Any updates on how to solve or workaround the problem?

Thanks

Hey all, didnt see any replies with an actual work around so I thought i'd share the little tidbit that works for me =)

I'll assume that you can work with regedit for this makes it shorter to type.

#1 Adding 'Open MP3 with Mp3Studio' to All files.

1. Open Regedit
2. Navigate to Computer\HKCR\*\Shell
3. Add a new key with a name you'll understand eg 'mp3file'
4. Open the "(default)" key inside it and add the value you'll want to see in the context menu eg "Open MP3 with Mp3Studio"
5. Add a new key inside that key you just created and call it "command"
6. Select your 'command' key and open the "(Default)" listing. Change its contents to eg "k:\apps\Mp3-Tag Studio 3.5\mp3tag_s.exe" -sxf"%1"

#2 Adding 'Open Folder with Mp3Studio' to folders

1. Open Regedit
2. Navigate to "Computer\HKCR\Folder\Shell"
3. Add a new key with a name you'll understand eg 'mp3fol'
4. Open the "(default)" key inside it and add the value you'll want to see in the context menu eg "Open Folder with Mp3Studio"
5. Add a new key inside that key you just created and call it "command"
6. Select your 'command' key and open the "(Default)" listing. Change its contents to eg "k:\apps\Mp3-Tag Studio 3.5\mp3tag_s.exe" -sxd"%1"

And thats it!, never used previous versions of Mp3Studio on Winxp or anything, but loving it on Vista. Easy as pie to use.
