I have just installed Beta 20 and it appeared to install normally but when I click Help-About I get a black area on my screen that looks like graphic I was expecting.  I can't bring up the main window either.  After a couple minutes the about screen appears but won't respond to anything but a close.

Vista Home Premium
nVidia 8600 ##### card (noted because it looks like a ##### problem)
AVG 8.0 installed but tried it with protection turned off.

Update: after a 2nd reboot I was able to get the program to show the screen and act normally.  That was if I loaded the program right after a reboot.  I loaded Firefox to check the wiki for information on an album and it started acting unusual again.

Sounds like my vista system doesn't like the nVidia card a whole lot.

This problem with the about screen has been reported on multiple Vista instances, but I sadly cannot reproduce it myself. :( Anyway, as you say, the solution should be to just wait for it to take its time, without clicking anything else, and then it will appear eventually (within a minute or so). Very strange indeed though.
