-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Suggestions +---Topic: Track Numbers from Timestamp started by John C Posted by: John C on Aug. 27 2003,11:32 The software I used to create MP3 files from records and tapes didn't set the track numbers. I gave MP3 Tag Studio a run before writing code to do what seemed a pretty straightforward task given that the timestamps basically specify the order of the tracks and track one should come first. I guess there are lots of situations where the timestamps can't be used but the lack of this facility means I'll do the lot myself. It's a pity because the product nearly did what I needed - and well. Posted by: Magnus Brading on Aug. 27 2003,14:59 It can indeed be done, it just requires a little initial preparation: 1. Activate the "custom file selection mode" (from the checkbox under the working directory textbox). 2. Right-click the filelist that will appear to the left, and select "Sort list by file date" (can also be set as defult in the program main settings). 3. Read < this FAQ entry > about auto-setting tracknumbers for files. This will let you do what you're asking for. Posted by: unregisturd on Sep. 21 2003,01:06 to do this int he past, i have successfully used a very good renaming program by Albert Bertilsson called Renamer 6.0.. it has an "insert incrementing number" feature.. you can set the format, increment and position in the filename to insert the number.. you can then add this into your mp3 tag.. end |
