I'm a huge (and registered! fan of MP3 Tag Studio and use it to maintain a collection of about 53,000 MP3 tracks. About once each month I back up my collection to an external hard drive using a synchronization program. The program works very well, but if it does a bit-by-bit or MD5 Hash check to find differences then it tends to be very slow, so I normally just use file dates or archive bits to find tracks that I've modified (for example, cleaning up a tag, changing a genre, etc.)
When I run a compare afterwards to authenticate the backup, I usually find that the only tracks the sync program did not catch are ones where I made a small change in MP3 Tag Studio.
Is there any option in the program to have any change at all cause the archive flag to be set? I like that it does not change the file date, but having the archive flag set would make keeping a backup copy much easier.
Thanks!
