After a lot of effort all of my MP3s now contain MusicBrainz (MBz) data - see www.musicbrainz.org. Unfortunately this now means MP3 TagStudio will not allow any tag editing as it says the tags contain frames it doesn't support which must be removed.

Obviously as I've gone to all the trouble of putting the data in in the first place I don't want to remove it. Would you consider implementing support for MBz data? I'm not asking for the program to be altered to add MBz data as programs already exist for that just that MP3TS allows editing of tags containing MBz data and that data is preserved.

I should say that the fact MP3TS recognised the data was there and didn't just destroy it is a big step forward from other tag editing programs I have used. :)

The format of the MBz tag data is defined at http://wiki.musicbrainz.org/MusicBrainzTag.

Thanks.

[later] having played with this some more there appear to only be two problem frames - XSOP and UFID.

From the MBz Wiki:

The artist sortname is stored in the TSOP frame for ID3v2.4 and in the experimental XSOP frame for ID3v2.3.

The MusicBrainz Track Id is the internal unique ID MusicBrainz defines for every object in its database. It is stored in the special UFID frame, that contains two parts: The Owner Identifier selects the namespace where the identifies is unique. For MusicBrainz it is be guaranteed that this ID is unique on the server; therefore the default owner identifier is http://musicbrainz.org. The second part is the UUID for the track as stored in the MusicBrainz database.

Thanks for the info. I will take a look at it for future updates.
