Special characters defeat Bookmark Converter.
Bookmark Converter (3.2b2) does not DE-convert html codes for special characters in the names of bookmarks in the Firefox file bookmarks.html. As a result, BC cannot properly sync FF bookmarks with Opera or IE bookmarks whose names contain special characters. Also, BC sync mistakenly produces duplicate copies of all such bookmarks, probably because their html names no long match their original (ascii) names.
For example, when BC merges an Opera bookmark named "smith's website" into FF bookmarks.html, BC converts the bookmark name to "smith,s website" (the html equivalent). But thereafter, when you ask BC to sync Opera and Firefox bookmarks, you wind up with duplicated bookmarks in the Opera *.adr file -- one under its orignal name, and another under its html-coded name.
This sync error could perhaps be cured by DE-converting the html special character codes in bookmark nams in the Firefox file bookmarks.html back into their ascii equivalents --*before* comparing them with IE or Opera bookmark names. Special characters in bookmark url's should, of course, NOT be de-converted.
