ok i stumbled on something strange here with some scandinavian (!;) tunes that have funny :p characters - in tag editor if you for example need to enter an "Æ" (unicode 0x00c6) and use alt+0175 to fetch it you get an "¯" (unicode 0x00af) instead. now if you look at the hex value of "Æ" alt-sequence (175=0xaf) maybe you get an idea what might be wrong ;)

sunny side is that characters appear correctly when pasted and of course when the character's unicode and alt-sequence match (as with "å").

kind regards,
aaduke

As far as I know, characters entered with alt-sequences in Windows always use decimal number coding? I don't understand where you see the connection between 0xc6 and 175? Please explain further.

 i'll try to be clearer, not sure tho if i succeed...

i needed to enter an "Æ" (latin capital ligature AE). so i launched charmap and looked up its alt-code 0175. for my surprise when i entered that in mp3ts i got a "¯" (macron aka overline) instead   . well-well.. played around with some other characters and found out that if a characters unicode converted to decimal is different than its alt-code and i enter this alt-code in mp3ts i get a wrong character. and the unicode of that wrong character matches the hex value of my entered alt-code.

Ok, I see. But I get the same behavior in for example Microsoft Notepad, and any other Windows program I try? It's Windows standard to behave this way, so I cannot understand how you can classify this as a "bug"?

What version and language localization of Windows do you have? Mp3/Tag Studio behaves just like all other programs in the English version of Windows.

Sometimes I do have same issues like Aadu discribed. But since it happens not so frequently that I need proper unicode handling I can live with it and use foobar2000 or winamp as alternatives
