In the past, when I did a new installation of mp3ts I could take a copy of mp3ts.dat from a PC where I already had my "additional genres" set up and use it to replace the copy on the new PC.  I would then see all of my "additional genres" in the mp3ts interface on the new PC.

I just did a new installation of beta 19 and that trick doesn't seem to work anymore.  Can you explain where "additional genres" get stored these days?  Even better yet, can you suggest a quick way yo get the "additional genres" from the attached copy of mp3ts.dat into the new installation?  Copy and paste 158 times is going to be a #### bummer if there isn't a better way.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Oh, by the way, thanks for all of your work...it's great to see mp3ts working on Vista! :D

Hmm, very strange, those settings are still just stored in that file?

Did any settings whatsoever get transferred? Also, you must replace that file while Mp3/Tag Studio is not running, did you do that?

I had a few busy weeks so I am just finally getting around to looking at this again.  I saw your warning that mp3tag_s.exe must not be running when I overwrite mp3ts.dat.  I'm pretty sure that it wasn't running when I originally overwrote it.

However, just to be sure, I uninstalled ms3ts, deleted the magnus brading software folder in Program Files, rebooted, did a clean install of mp3ts, I even went through the paranoia of turning off the shell extensions and then rebooting a second time.

After the second reboot, I checked task manager to make sure that nothing related to mp3ts was running.  I overwrote mp3ts.dat and even rebooted a third time before opening mp3ts.

Still no luck.  mp3ts is not seeing the additional genre entries in mp3ts.dat.  Interestingly enough, I can add a new additional genre (that I named "test - test - test") and that worked without a hitch.

However, when I used that file to overwrite mp3ts.dat on another PC that is running mp3ts 3.5 (beta 17) I see all of the additional genres that I added in the past BUT I DO NOT SEE "test - test - test".

Seems like some sort of incompatibility between mp3ts.dat created in beta 17 and beta 19.  Very strange.

I'd be happy to send you my copy of mp3ts.dat if you would like.
