Hi,

Just wondering if it is possible to make a playlist of playlists ... I have in each album directory a playlist (album).m3u, and I want to recurse all my album directories and create a list with (album1).m3u, (album2).m3u, and so on ... I tried to create with the 'create winamp playlist' unchecked, and filter for files with m3u extension, but it says that there is 'Unknown failure during ID3 tag extraction' for some of the playlist files ... this leads me to believe that I am only supposed to make lists of mp3s.  Is this the case ?

Or if this approach is wrong, I couldn't even get the program to create lists sorted by track numbers (from tag) ... it creates the list in alphabetical order of track title.  Is there any way to sort it by tagged track number ?

Thank you !!

Sure, simply use the following template (in the list maker tool):

<Filename>

And then set the filter to only process files with extension "m3u". That should produce the list you are requesting.

Thanks for the reply ...

But that didn't really seem to work, I think the setting i was looking for was 'Filepath relative', that works well for the m3u files it actually does find ... but for some reason, about half of the files it couldn't 'find' ?  A bunch of those files are listed in the Errors and warnings window with 'Unknown failure during ID3 tag extraction for file (whatever).m3u' ...

I was under the impression that there isn't supposed to be an ID3 tag in the playlist file ?  The thing I can't really understand is why it can add some files, but not others ..

Thanks ..

Are you sure you did not include any other field in the template than "<Filename>"?

In that case, could you send me an example structure of m3u-files (in a zip file) which will reproduce this problem?

Ok then, I emailed you the zip file you wanted.  I tried <Filename> and also <Filepath relative>, both give similar results ...

Ok, I have confirmed the problem. It's not really a bug, since the program was not designed to make lists of non-mp3 files, but I have still taken note of it for fixing in a future update. It should only be a problem for really small files though (smaller than 300 bytes or so).
