-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: ID3 v1 And v2 sync started by Treefitty Posted by: Treefitty on Aug. 21 2002,19:39 First of all I want to say what everybody else has said [even though your probably fed up of hearing it], this pogram is the best mp3 tagging program that is availiable by a long way. After over a year of trawling through all the dismal programs availiable on the net I never thought i would find one to tidy up my 3,000 plus mp3's that i have gathered over the last few years, that was actually usable. Thanks for a great program! Anyway, here is the little problem i am having: After clearing up re-tagging and re-naming all the new and old mp3's i have, alot of them have unscynced v1 and v2 id3 tags. Is there an easier way of mass syncing all the files ID3 Tags without having to go and slightly alter [eg. putting in a space on one of the fields of the ID3 Tag in Browse/Edit Tags & Flags] then remove the alteration and click the write tag button, for each mp3. Even if the program has mass set flags, mass cleaned them up, auto tagged, or auto re-named them it still does not sync them, unless you manualy edit the tags and then write them. I'm sure there is an easy solution to this. Thanks In Advance Posted by: Disposable Hero on Aug. 21 2002,21:23 Check the tools on the "Direct tag manipulation" tab. These are especially helpful if the problem is consistent throughout your files. Like if your v2 tags are fine except for the track numbers, which should be taken from the v1 tag. Posted by: Magnus Brading on Aug. 22 2002,02:24 Yes, exactly. Running the "Direct tag manipulation" tool with the "v2 -> v1 conversion" preset would have the exact same effect as the described "add a space/remove the space/save the changes" in the browse tool, but automated. (if you have selected v1 as the primary tag type in the global settings, you would instead have to use the "v1 -> v2 conversion" preset to mimic that browse tool procedure) Posted by: Treefitty on Aug. 22 2002,21:24 Thanks i knew there was something stupid i was not seeing. end |
