(I don't have any Vista machine to test it on myself, so please go ahead and let me know about your results here in this thread Enjoy! Posted by: markand44 on Feb. 20 2007,10:55 Nope, doesn't work for me with Vista RC2 build 5744. Install completes, program crashes immediately, as before. Tried XP compatability mode, still nothing. Good luck with this, Magnus - Vista's awful. If nothing else works, the direct download link is: < http://www.magnusbrading.com/ftp/mp3ts35b18.zip > And about the Vista compatibility issues, I will make a new attempt soon, please stay tuned... Posted by: el_viejo_apa on Mar. 03 2007,14:29 Just one more question. I've downloaded the Beta 18 package. Before installing it I would like to know a simple an easy thing because I don't want to overwrite my old but faithful 3.05 version (and its configurations): Is the Beta 18 version time expiry for non-registered users like Beta 17 turned out to be? Posted by: Magnus Brading on Mar. 04 2007,12:19 All beta versions have an expiration date for non-registered customers, yes. The previous non-beta version is always still available though, and there will always (except in this case because I was screwed over by the Asprotect guys) be a new version available when the previous one expire. Posted by: dfollis on Mar. 27 2007,07:07 You just got some very good press in network world (3.26.07 P. 30 Gearhead - Organizing Audio) I am running Vista Business. Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.0.6000.16386" I also get the execution stop message the minute I run your app. I have tried a normal launch, Run As Administrator, and XP SP2 Compatability Mode. Here is the event log string: Log Name: Application Source: Application Error Date: 3/26/2007 9:16:58 PM Event ID: 1000 Task Category: (100) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Vista01 Description: Faulting application mp3tag_s.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x2a425e19, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x7ffdf000, process id 0x1228, application start time 0x01c77026c2bebf89. I'm also curious. I have a very large MP3 collection; 25K tracks, 2000 albums, all 256K. Vista is doing okay with these but I haven't found a really good way to index and manage these (I'm using Windows Media Player 11, but it is starting to buckle under the stress of such a large dataset). What do you use? I'm looking at Sonos for streaming to my stereo but am also not sure it can easily index and search through this many tracks. BTW I have a Dell Dimmension 4600, 2.5GB RAM, 300GB HD 7200 RPM, Raedon Pro 9800 #####. Viel Dank Posted by: Magnus Brading on April 03 2007,00:06 Thanks for the info. Regarding Vista support, please see the following thread: < http://www.magnusbrading.com/cgi-bin....;t=1293 > Regarding what I use to organize my mp3 files, its a custom written database (i.e. by me). ![]() Posted by: sailor99 on April 03 2007,02:22 The beta release doesn't appear to work on Windows Vista. I get the message that "the application has stopped working". end |
