I have been organizing my mp3 in ways that are not easily reflected in the existing tags. As an example, suppose I take a recording of Handel's Op. 6 Concerti Grossi. I create a top-level directory, "Concerti Grossi, Op. 6, Handel, Pinnock", then I create sub-directories for each Concerto, with the movements as individual files. I set the track numbers from 1 to n in each sub-directory. The title field holds the idenification of each movement, "I Allegro", "II Largo", etc. (For suites these are often the indvidual dance form, Courant, Saraband, etc.) Then comes the problem of placing the title of the work in each file. The Album field SHOULD contain data common to the entire set, but that doesn't leave any place of the work's title.
So, I've been co-opting the Album tag for things like "Concerto No. 4, E-flat major" (I just made that up). Of course, the album information is usually (if I'm good) in a .nfo or .txt file, and sometimes I think to put it in the Comment tag, but I would be really nice if there were a "Work" tag.
The other seemingly missing tag is "Arranger", such as a Bach ricercare arranged by Webern. I suppose one could include that in the Composer tag, but since we have a Lyricist tag it would seem to me to be cleaner to have an Arranger tag as well.
Any thoughts?
