Hi,

I am trying BMC 3.1 and I noticed that it doesn't fully support Firefox 1.0, it calls the toolbar bookmarks folder "Personal Toolbar Folder" when the Firefox 1.0 standard is to call it "Bookmarks Toolbar Folder". This results in weird behavior.

Can you please look into it and release a fix that is fully compatible with Firefox 1.0?

Otherwise, great little tool! Thank you.

Sure, it will be fixed in the next update, thanks for reporting.

One more thing: BMC should auto detect a Firefox 1.0 installation.

Yes, updated autodetection of all browsers will be in the next version too.

Hi,

My 30 days trial has expired but I cannot justify paying for it until 2 bugs are fixed:

- Firefox 1.0 support
- compatibility with XP SP2

When do you expect to have these fixed?

Is there a way to extend the trial until a fix is released at which time I will be more than happy to pay for BMC if it works OK for me.

Thanks.

I'm working on it (large parts of it fixed), but can't give you any date, I've got a lot of things going on right now, which is why it takes some time, sorry. And no, there is no practical way of extending the trial period for users themselves, that would kinda spoil its purpose. ;)

Firefox 1.0 is now official, a production version.

Will BMC properly work with it soon?

Yes, I have already fixed the "XP SP2 support" (it seems as it is rather the latest SP for IE that caused this problem, but anyway), and updates for the latest browsers is on the way too. I will take another shot at it this weekend.

And just so everyone else who reads this knows, Bookmark Converter already works to convert bookmarks to/from Firefox, it is just some minor issues with naming of special folders and such which is not updated to match the latest browser version yet.

All well and good to say you have other things to keep you busy. It isn't a sign of great customer service, though. Because of the problem syncing with Opera that I reported on this board in June (which others have experienced), I have been completely unable to use the program for five months while I patiently waited. Kinda makes me wonder why I bothered to pay for it. I certainly wouldn't recommend it. :disagree: javascript:emoticon(':disagree:';)

HappyCamper, we suffered a harddisk crash this summer, which resulted in loss of a few weeks of email among other things, and yours might have been one of them. Fixes for reproducible critical bugs like this are normally released as soon as possible. If you could please send me another sample file that can be used to reproduce this crash, I will make sure to analyze and fix it ASAP.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Thanks for the sample file HappyCamper, I have analyzed it and found that this problem was due to a bug in Bookmark Converter, being triggered because of certain special conditions in you bookmark file.

I have now fixed the bug, and it will work fine in the update which will most likely be released this weekend (which should also contain full Firefox 1.0 support).

OK, I appreciate that. Sorry to sound testy in my last post. I didn't realize the problem was that you never got my e-mail back in July. :agree:

Also, it would be nice if BMC preserved the favicon which Firefox stores in the bookmarks.html file and also the quick search keywords also stored in the bookmarks file.

This means that BMC should not blindly overwrite the file all the time.

Ok, new version 3.2 beta 1 released, see < this thread > for more info.
