Hi, I'm a long time user of Tag Studio -- great tool!

I have a bunch of mp3s with one or more missing tag fields.  I want to generate a list of the files with missing fields, and then I will hand-edit it, adding the missing information, and then tag/rename from this list.

How do I set the filter to process files only with missing artist OR missing year OR missing tracknum OR etc AND the filename ends in .mp3.

(Note: the tag exists, only some of the fields are blank.)

Filter assumes AND for the different fields.  I can do a negate/negate, so I can do negate title is blank, negate year is blank, etc, and then click the global negate.  This gives me an OR (DeMorgan) . But then I can't limit my filename extension to .mp3 because the global negate is on.

Thanks!

I think the easiest solution in this case would be to perform three different runs, each looking for one of the empty fields. You could then also make this into a macro if you want, which could be executed with a single click if you need to do it for several batches of files.

Thanks Magnus.  It's not optimal, but it will work.

The first pass will test for a blank year, the next pass looks for a blank tracknum AND NOT a blank year, etc.  Otherwise, I'll get two entries for a track that has both year and tracknum blank.

Is there a way to append, and not overwrite, a custom list file?  Otherwise, I'll have to append them myself, which isn't a big deal.

Thanks!

Ok, I'm glad it worked out for you.

Auto-appending is currently not supported, so I'm afraid you will have to do that yourself at the moment.
