I have downloaded some mp3 files containing embedded images.  In Mp3/tap they are listed as "Unsupported binary data".  Is there a freeware (or cheap) program which will extract the images for examination and/or printing?

I'm sure there is (I just don't know the name of any ;)), but I will add a feature to save them to files in an upcoming version anyway.

Probably not, if you don't have a really good lung capacity, but I will try to implement it in the next update anyway. :)

By far the best I have found for displaying attached pictures is 'ID3v2_PictureBox' plugin for winamp2. It gives a free floating image which you can easily place anywhere and drag to any size up to full screen. The picture changes instantly as winamp plays each new file. Unfortunately it doesn't work with winamp3, and as far as I can see all winamp2 plugins have been removed from site.
'Mp3 Tag Tools v1.2' shows the picture in a small square box, a distorted version if it's not a 1:1 picture. A good feature is the tabular file display includes a (sortable) column to show which mp3s have pictures.
Real one player, free version will also display pictures, in this case also multiple pictures, although it is extremely rare to find more than one. At a guess I find of the order of 5% of downloaded songs have a picture.
Adding pictures is straightforward with any of these programs.
If you want the winamp plugin I can send it to you (how?), for me pictures transform the listening experience, and it's fun trying to find out what those rare artists looked like.

Thanks for the info.

Me myself don't really fancy such pictures to any particular degree, since I practically always play the music while working with the computer, so I can't have any pictures displaying over my work anyway, and then they only take up space in the file. But I can understand how it could improve the experience too, if you only have the time to let the computer stand for itself and play, and actually watch the pictures. :)
