I use the renaming capabilities of MP3/Tag Studio a lot. I would like to know how to do the following: Since a question mark cannot be used in file names, I use the character commonly used in Spanish, "¿". I want to use ? marks in tags and ¿ marks in file names. When I rename a file with a tag with ? in it, the file name gets a ¿. Conversely, if the file name has a ¿ in it, the tag should get a ?. I have it working using the Auto case fix settings/Substring replacements, but only in one direction. A ? in a tag becomes a ¿ in a file name, but a ¿ in a file name remains a ¿ in a tag. Is it possible to make the latter case work as I would like, a bidirectional replacement?

Thanks in advance.

Just set up two sets of substitution tables.  One for ? -> ¿, the other for ¿ -> ?, and select the correct one for each operation.

I have two tables, one of which converts arabic numerals to roman, the other does the reverse.  Useful for converting track numbers to roman for movements of classical works.

Are you referring to the 'Presets' that can be selected? So to do what you are suggesting, you'd have to change the selected preset before each type of operation? One preset for reading tags from files and one preset for renaming files from tags?

Yes, four mouse clicks (I think).  "Setup" "Pre-set dropdown" "Select" "OK"

I think I follow your meaning. Thanks for the recommendation.

Can you (or anyone) think of a way it can be done using the right click context sensitive menu for operations?

Thanks

I'll step aside for the Almighty Author.  I don't use the context menu much -- I don't even use macros, which I think amused the A. A. highly.  That the trouble with being a good typist.

Case fix and filter presets are available from the shell extension menu too. Please look inside the "Use ..." sub menus.
