I searched the archives and found a post that gave this syntax to launch Mp3/Tag Studio from the command line:
mp3tag_s.exe "-sxdC:\mp3"
This got me thinking... is it possible to run any of the other commands that appear in the right-click menu from the command line? I'm especially interested in my custom "retag assumed format" command that tags the track number and title based on the file name.
If this is possible I'd purchase Mp3/Tag Studio in a minute! (just discovered it today). I'm writing an mp3tool batch file and have run into something I haven't been able to solve (maybe there's another way I haven't discovered yet). When I use the "--nogaps" option with LAME, there is no way to tag each file's track number and title. I can tag Artist, Album, Year and Genre no problem since they are shared by all files in a particular album or live show, but can't tag anything on a file by file basis as far as I can tell, namely track number and song title.
I've tried to figure out a way to just add these tags to an existing .mp3 file using LAME, but it doesn't seem to be possible. So that led me to search for a command line driven tool that can do this for me. I am a registered user of Tag&Rename which is a great tool too, but it doesn't have any command-line interface at all other than startup at a specific location. Just from what I've read here at this forum, it seems to me that Mp3/Tag Studio is pretty close if not there already as far as being able to do some tagging from the command line, and if not I read that it is planned.
Any info you can give me would be great! Thanks!
