+---Topic: Remember case fix setup per tab/tool started by perfectionist

When I clean up new mp3 files I use direct tag manipulation to case fisx the tags (advance case). The file names however are converted to full lowercase.

I would be extreme handy if actions (like "auto rename from tags" and "direct tag manipulation") remembered their individual "case fix and replace".

BTW the case fix and replace "to full lowercase" gets violated by certain string replacements resulting in mixed case thus full lower case is not enforced. Not what I expected. Could this please be fixed.

TIA

This has been discussed before, but I think it would in many cases be quite confusing to have different settings per tool for the case fix, since it is after all a separate utility whose settings you don't see directly on screen. If you want to "remember certain settings" for the different tools, simply create a macro instead, this will remember all settings for a certain operation, including casefix and filter settings, and even make the rest of the operation faster too.

And about the substring replacements, you can use the "before/after casefix" option for every replacement instance to decide if they should be performed before or after the casefixing.

Haven't yet looked at the new macro stuff yet. will do. thanx.

About string replacement; I have certain rules which must be applied after case fix. Thus the "before/after" switch is not an option.

Anyway the case option to "full lowercase" and "full uppercase" behave "unexpected" from a user point of view ;) Maybe a checkbox to enforce it could be added?

Ok, well to fix your problem with the replacements, without correctly using the before/after option, you could then simply temporarily disable the substring replacements while doing this operation (with the single checkbox on the substring replacements tab of the casefix tool).
end
