-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Suggestions +---Topic: Tagging MP3s from Foldername - Dir-names started by Peter Posted by: Peter on Jan. 01 2004,09:08 Hello there. First of all i will thank you for this great mp3-tagging tool. I use it since 1,5 years. Its the best i've ever had. Now i have got an improvement for tagging. Are you able to add support for tagging from folder-names, Inluding subdirs? My folders on disk: [(Interpret) - |Albumname| - mp3-file] "Write Interpret-Information of the Folder into the mp3's ID3-Tag v1 and v2" and Write Album-Information of the Folder into the mp3's ID3-Tag v1 and v2". It would make it much easier to tag the mp3s, because you only have to read the information from the foldernames. I hope you understood my "Englisch" Thanks for your Response. Greatz Peter Posted by: Magnus Brading on Jan. 02 2004,00:05 This is already supported. If you for example have a folder named: c:\mp3\some artist\some album\01 - some title.mp3 You can extract the data with the following template in the "Auto tag" tool: ---------------------CODE SAMPLE------------------- <Artist><\><Album><\><TrackNr> - <Title>.mp3 ---------------------CODE SAMPLE------------------- You don't even need the advanced mode, simply use the "Add dir" button to add the <\> fields in the template. end |
