Would it be too hard to make conditional substitutions? I understand the current application to be wyswyg, but would like to be able to avoid creating a huge dictionary of substitutes.

Ex... if you do the substitute _iv_ = _IV_ (space = _)

you will get this result

        OLD                            NEW                      Desired?
part iv of the series           Part IV of the series          Y
part iv (this is end of line)   Part Iv                            N

But if you use this substitution.... _iv = _IV

you get this result
         OLD                           NEW                       Desired?
part iv (this is end of line)    Part IV                           Y
poison ivy                          Poison IVy                      N

Any ideas on this would be appreciated

Yes, there are plans to make it identify separate words, no matter where they are placed in the sentence, in a future update. I think this would be the most simple and useful solution.
