How do I change the PROTECTION BIT ON of an MP3 file with your Mp3/Tag Studio software?

From:
2.9. The Anatomy of an MP3 File
A Frame sync 11
B MPEG audio version (MPEG-1, 2, etc.) 2
C MPEG layer (Layer I, II, III, etc.) 1
D Protection (if on, then checksum follows header) 1

I want to set this BIT on.

It can be set from either the browse tool or the mass set tool.

Going to the browse tool I see:
(I am running 3.5 beta 16)

Flags
Private
CRC's
Copyrighted
Original
Emphasis

And the Mass set tools has:
Private
Copyright
Original

I don't see the Protection Bit as a flag?

Ah, I thought you meant the "private" or "copyrighted" flag, sorry.

In that case you must specify further exactly which flag you are talking about, and in what kind of header it is supposedly located. The flags listed in Mp3/Tag Studio are the only flags in a standard mp3 header.

The site :

Shows that the Protection Bit is part of the Header (See D)

When you move your mouse over an MP3 file in XP it says
Protected: No

I want this to say: Yes

I set the copyright to ON and it still says Protected: No,
so I am assuming that the Protected Bit needs to be set on as per the header information in the url above.

Ah, sorry, that is not a normal header flag, but rather an indicator for if CRC information is present in the header. If you would set that flag to "yes" without actually calculating and inserting CRC info into a position after every header of the mp3 file, you would break it. That's why you cannot modify this "flag" in Mp3/Tag Studio.
