On my machine, the dirtree fix does not allow expansion of drive contents - there are no "+" signs next to the drives. All folder selection has to be done through the Browse button. With the dirtree fix disabled, only the desktop is displayed, regardless of the working directory. Irritating.

Some specs:
Mp3/Tag Studio 3.01, full and paid for  :)
CPU: Intel Pentium III 932 MHz MMX x2
Memory: Total - 1048 MB, Free - 786 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows 2000  Workstation 5.0 Service Pack 2 (Build 2195)
Internet Explorer: 6.0.2600.0000
ComCtl32.dll: 5.50.4704.1100
Shlwapi.dll: 6.00.2600.0000
Shell32.dll: 5.00.3502.4718

Yes, the lack of "+"-signs is a known drawback of the dirtree fix. But it's actucally not as bad as you say, you can still double click folders to expand them, just as in the Windows Explorer, it's just the "+"-signs expansion method that is gone.

Don't even get me started about that dirtree component. Let's just say that it's cursed, and that this is the best solution that I could find. It is practically the only piece of code in Mp3/Tag Studio that is neither written by me, nor is a native Delphi component, and it has caused at least as much trouble as the rest of the code in the program altogether. :( I probably should get a new one, I just haven't had the time.

Thanks for the double-click tip Magnus - apparently I was not clicking quickly enough, so I did not see that functionality. Makes life easier.

IMO, this is the only major flaw in MP3TS. Another component would be great, for you as well as for users  :D
One that allowed you to select multiple folders, hmm, that would...
never mind - one that works would be be great  :)

Magnus, have you looked at some of the components from Dream Company? < http://www.dream-com.com >

They have trial versions, seem reasonably priced and include full source code and support when you register.

Specifically, I thought the "Dream InfoTree" and "Dream InfoTreeGrid" products might be useful. Especially since the Dream InfoTreeGrid page says:

See how TreeGrid can be used to implement Explorer in one control (the registered version includes the full sources of Explorer application)

Another option is Plasmatech's Shell Control Pack: < http://www.plasmatech.com/shellctl.htm >

Just thought I'd mention it; I've never used any Dream Company or Plasmatech products, nor am I anyway affiliated with either of them.

Thanks for the tips, I will take a closer look at them when I get the time to look into this issue a bit more. They both seem pretty good, but I have looked at quite a few of these before I decided to go with the one I have now, and it is very hard to know if they have some subtle problems like the one I have now. That one also looked very good at first. :(
