Hover you mouse over those for a second, and you will know. :-)

They are used for prepend/overwrite/append anyway.

I just noticed that the help file wasn't completely clear about this, so I added it for the next update, but otherwise the following are very good general tips if you see something in Mp3/Tag Studio that you don't know what it does:

1.
Hover the mouse over the control, and read the tips in the little box that will appear.

2.
Press F1 anywhere in the program, to bring out a help text for the current operation or selected control.
