-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Administrator and restricted user accounts started by Eduard Posted by: Eduard on Mar. 12 2007,10:21 MP3TS is an excellent program but... I have a problem when I want it to use under a (restricted) user account. Platform: MS XP Pro SP2 (Dutch). Problem: When I use the program under my administrator account it works fine. When I want it to run under any of my restricted user accounts (wife, daughters, etc.) it won't work. What do I have to do to make it work? Thanks for replying! Posted by: Magnus Brading on Mar. 15 2007,09:39 What are the exact symptoms? Posted by: Eduard on Mar. 18 2007,16:19 This is what I get: (Translated from Dutch) MP3tag_s.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Anyway, thanks for the report, I'm not sure why this happens for you, but I will try to look into this problem. Have you tried it on another computer, and in that case, does the same thing happen there? Posted by: Eduard on Mar. 20 2007,19:00 Just a minute ago I've tried Mp3TS on another computer under a limited user account. It won't start up neither... Now I get this message: Application Error EInOutError in module mp3tag_s.exe at 000A1A42. I/O error 103. Notice that this is another message than that I had before. Posted by: Magnus Brading on Mar. 22 2007,10:29 Ah, this is probably because it cannot write to its own installed directory. If you just add permissions for the account to write to this directory, it will most likely work. Posted by: Eduard on Mar. 22 2007,20:01 That's it! I've had set the right permissions in the registry but overlooked the permissions of the map C:\Program Files\Magnus Brading Software\Mp3-Tag Studio 3.5\. ![]() End of problem! Thank you very much! end |
