In 'Browse/Edit tags & flags':
Found a file with an huge (over 300K) ID3v2 tag due to an embedded photo.
Removed the frame in the 'advanced ID3v2' dialog box.
Then removed the ID3v2 tag (with right-click) in the file list.
Then attempted to change the v1 tag & force write changes to create a new sync'ed ID3v2 (with my default padding).
3.01 crashes .... Only if 'advanced ID3v2 Info' dialog box is open (and the original is huge!
Bug is reproducable. (Running MS-Win2K, no dump or anything to help you with.)
Workaround: Close the 'advanced ID3v2' dialog box before attempting this!

It would be great if you could send me a sample mp3 file, which I can use to reproduce the problem you describe.
