Not sure if this is a bug, or if you have intended it for some other purpose, but in the advanced rename mode, when you right click and select <OldFileName> from the context menu, what gets inserted into the string template is actually <&OldFileName>. The "&" seems to make the template illegal, and it's removal allows the template to work as one would expect.

Thanks for the report, this is a bug caused by some larger internal changes in beta 10, I will look into it.
