When Windows starts, the sync system runs, even though I haven't selected it to run on startup.

How can I prevent it running at startup?  I'd prefer to use manual control and sync the bookmarks only when I choose to do so.

Are you completely sure that you didn't leave the "Synchronize on boot" checkbox checked when you created the synchronization set in question? It might be related to the other strange problems you reported with the sync tool otherwise I guess. Please try to edit your sync set to first enable the "Synchronize on boot" checkbox and save the settings, and then disable that checkbox again and save the settings again, and see if that helps.

No, no doubt about it - the box isn't checked.  I might try installing the program again.

Please try what I suggested above first anyway. And if you have created more than one sync set, are all of their sync on boot checkboxes cleared? (the sets must be individually selected in the listbox to see that)

I only created one sync set.

Okay, I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it.  I haven't re-inserted the sync set yet because I've got other stuff to do right now.

But as I said in my post to the suggestions area, I find it confusing that there is no way to OK what you've done on the sync set page.

When you open the program and go to Utilities\ Sync\Merge Bookmark Collections you're taken to the Bookmark\Synchronoze Merge page.

But when you finish making your settings\adjustments, the page has no SAVE, FINISH, OK button, or even a way of closing the page.  All you can do is hit the BACK button which, IMHO, doesn't tell you that the settings you've just made have been retained in the program memory.

Ok, I see. And yeah, the back button will work, but why did you try to kill the program with ctrl-alt-delete when you now acknowledge that there is a back button?

Because, in all of the many apps I've installed and trialled over 15 years or more, a BACK button indicates that you want to return to the previous page, usually to make some change in your selections.  In my opinion, it's not the logical control for finishing and saving your settings.

Isn't it at least a bit more logical than ctrl-alt-delete?  :) But sure, I'll take a look at it.
