Here is my problem: I have loads of mp3s in the following order: X:\Music\{Artist}\{Album}\{Song}.mp3 At the end of some (many) of the tags there is a useless symbol I am trying to get rid of. Now here is how I want to proceed: Firstly, I create a custom list including absolute filepaths and the wrong tags. Secondly, I use notepad to replace the useless symbol by nothing. (ctrl+h) (no problem until here) Now, I want to import the correct tag list by "Tag/rename from list". But, instead of correcting the tags, I get following error for every tag: "File to be tagged did not exist: "X:\Music\{Song}.mp3" This appears because "X:\Music" is the current folder in the program. I think it should be possible to get the folder from the "absolute filepath" information, when I use "target file" while importing. With this feature I could make ONE list of all mp3s, replace the mistakes one time and import the new list one time. Now I'd have to make a list for each album separately. I red the pinned thread but anyway I would be glad to get a short feedback if this is possible, because if not, I have to find another way (and I can't imagine one by now, besides doing it manual). Posted by: Haberlon on June 07 2010,18:25 I show you an example with one file in one folder, which indeed works: The following file is given: C:\Music\Led Zeppelin\Led Zeppelin IV\1 - Black Dog§.mp3 The Tags are Led Zeppelin§, Led Zeppelin IV§, Black Dog§ Auto Tag from Filename is no option because the symbol (§) is in the file name, too. Now I create a custom list including absolute filepath, artist, title, album and track. Then, I open the list with notepad and replace "§ ;" with " ;". Also, I remove the first line of the text file (headline). Now, I use Tag/rename from list to import the correct tags. This works because the program is still in the folder C:\Music\Led Zeppelin\Led Zeppelin IV. But Now, I have plenty of folders with different albums with the mistake. So I make a list of C:\Music and replace the mistakes by notepad. When I want to import the list, the error "File to be tagged did not exist: "C:\Music\Black Dog§.mp3" appears for every song, because the program is in the folder C:\Music. But in the Text file, the correct path is given, so I think it shouldn't be a problem to use this information while tagging from list instead of the adjustment "working directory". I'm afraid I don't know what you mean with "marco functionality". Greetings H. Posted by: Haberlon on July 26 2010,17:05 meanwhile i found a way to solve my problem "semi automatic". i created the list i mentioned above and ran the "tag from list" in every single album folder. so i got a few thousand mistakes and ~10-20 correct changes per folder. i needed a fraction of the time of doing it manually, but much longer as if there would be the possibility to import lists independent from the folder adjustment of the program. anyway the mp3/tag studio is a great program. greetings h.
