Hi i was wondering if there are any plans to include support for other formats?

Particuarly WAV as many people are going back to lossless formats. And while FLAC has had support, WAV is almost universally supported.

I use a very basic program for Tagging WAV files and would love to be able to use the ridiculous number of features that MP3 Tag studio has.

Also would like to mention other mainstream formats such as
WMV, FLAC, AAC etc...

There are no such immediate plans, since this would necessitate a pretty large rewrite of much of the program's code.  :ashamed:

Yeah I can imagine quite a significant amount of work to add other formats. One of the things I hate about my tracks in WMV, FLAC & WAV is the amount of time I spend tagging them compared with MP3's using Tag Studio.

I have heard, and I don't know if its true, but WAV use the exact same tagging system as MP3 but I only know of 2 programs that actually tag WAV files.

If it does use the same system would it be possible in a future update?

If you want to add a standard ID3 tag to an arbitrary file, simply use an advanced mode template to force it, or in the worst case, rename it to .mp3, and then rename it back after the tagging operation.

If I'm not mistaken though, WAV files do not normally use standard ID3 tags.

Correct. Broadcast Wave Files (BWF) have an addition chunk, BEXT, which can store information such as title, artist, track, even timecode and other specialized features. These are of critical importance in the broadcast and film production industries.

I don't expect for MP3/Tag Studio to support something as specialized as this, since it's a professional file format. But supporting FLAC and Apple Lossless is a no-brainer, since both are widely used by consumers.
