When I start the program it flashes then disapears.

I have unistalled it and reinstalled it several times.

I am running windows xp with sp2.  I have 512megs of ram.

Anyideas?

Yes, this problem with XP SP2 is known, and we are trying to work around it for the next update, please stay tuned.

You can find more info about this in this thread.

Yes, the problem still seems to be in XP SP2 final, although it did work in XP SP2 RC1 (or was it RC2?), which was quite odd. Anyway, as I said, we will try to work around it in the next update to be released, so stick around. Thanks.

What is strange is I have another computer here, with sp2 final on it and 3.05 works fine.

Of course there are no mp3's on that computer.

The computer with all the mp3's is the one that the program will not work on.

Is there something in the registry that might prevent the program from running?

I sort of have it working, I shared this drive on the network.

Went over to the other computer, maped the drive and am running mp3 tag that way to rename my mp3's.

It is a little slow running accross the network, but at least it works for repairing my tags.

I just wished I knew why it does not work on this computer.

Also very odd, the task manager says it is running.

But it is no where to be found.

very strange.... I was hopeing to buy it, if I could get it to work......

That was very strange indeed. I've had reports earlier that said it runs under XP SP2 in unregistered mode, but not in registered mode, but I assume that both your copies are in unregistered mode?

Anyway, just stay tuned, and there will be a working version.

Thanks for the reports anyway, please keep 'em coming if you find anything else interesting regarding this issue.

Ok I got 3.05 working.
I unistalled it again.
I checked and there were some files left behind in the "Programs" folder.

I deleted those and reinstalled it and now works fine.

I have about 40 gigs of mp3's, when using the auto tag option I get several errors "truncated errors"

What does that mean?

Which files were left behind?

Anyway, the "truncated error" (or rather warning, it's not an error) only means that the length of the text that was put into some tag field was longer that the limited size of the ID3v1 tag. As long as you use the ID3v2 tags too (which is default) this is not a problem though.
