Cyrillic (and maybe other non-standart) characters in the file names give "I/O Error ###" - eighter make it to support cyrillic&others or make some tool like the dublicate check - "not-allowed-characters check"

Hmm, it should already work like that, silent without any error messages. Do you have a sample bookmark collection to reproduce the problem with?

I downloaded BCM recently - version 3.1 if remeber correctly.
about the sample collection - I already renamed the cyrillic files (there were only two)... but if you add this adress

(News about ISS, in russian) - it will probably make a Cyrillic name...
I use WinXP SP1, IE6.0, Opera 7.23

I just tried it, and it worked just fine for me. I think it might have to do with the fact that my operating system is not based on a unicode language though, so the IE favorite might not have gotten a unicode name (e.g. Cyrillic) in the first place. That's what makes it quite hard for me to fully try out and debug.
