Every time I run MP3TS I get the error message ‘Inconsistency in registry entries detected’ about 10 times before the application launches. I hit enter each time the message appears and eventually it launches and works okay.
I’m using Windows 7 Pro x64 SP1 and MP3TS Beta 21 although I manually updated to Beta 22 which made no difference unsurprisingly as I didn’t do a fresh install.
Before I do a fresh install of Beta 22 I thought I’d ask in case there is something that I need to look out for.

I guess this product is no longer supported!

Yes it is, it's just perhaps a bit "slowly" supported. :) Sorry about that.

Your error message indicates that you are using Mp3/Tag Studio from another Windows user account than the one you installed it from.

The problem can be fixed by copying the Mp3/Tag Studio registry key from the installed account to the account you are using it from.

Thanks Magnus, I did wonder if things are a bit more relaxed these days.  No problem as it wasn’t urgent.

Which particular Registry key am I searching for? I used RegEdit and there are a bunch of about 100+ keys stored in the folder named shellext. This is for my current account as I haven’t logged into my admin account yet.

It's the entire registry key named as follows (and all its contents) that can be copied:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Magnus Brading Software\Mp3-Tag Studio

Since the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" root is user account specific, you should be able to export the entire key above when logged in from the user account that you used to install Mp3/Tag Studio, and then just re-import it while being logged in from the second user account that you want to be able to runt Mp3/Tag Studio from.

Thanks Magnus. I could have guessed what you meant but at the same time it’s good to get it laid out in more depth in case someone else reads this thread.
You have to run Regedit.exe in administrator mode for reference.

Magnus, as a temporary measure you can do this.
If you installed under the Administrator account which I did and are using a different account if you run the programme with Administrator privileges from the other account the issue disappears.

Yes, that should work too. Thanks for reporting back.

Sounds pretty constant with other software. Or you can do always run program as admin to be the permanent fix.
end
