-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: Mp3/Tag Studio Support and Bug Reports +---Topic: Renaming Question started by fungi Posted by: fungi on Feb. 08 2005,22:37 Is there a way to make mp3 tag studio only rename things to caps and never to lower case? I'm having problems with batch renaming - I have my macro all set up - except for names in tracks like KMFDM get set to Kmfdm. I know I can add rules for words like KMFDM to always be caps'ed, but I can't add a rule for every possibility. What I'm essentially trying to do is set all words in tracks names to have the first letter upper case, except for those special words that are all upper case already. I figure the solution to this would be some type of rule which would dissallow changing upper case to lower case. Thanks. Posted by: Magnus Brading on Feb. 08 2005,23:06 There are no rules that are based on the pre-existing case-state of the words, no. This would be too unreliable. You must either add the words to the "Always upper-case" list, or use the full uppercase casefix mode. Posted by: fungi on Feb. 08 2005,23:22 couldn't there be a only change lower to upper case rule? meaning that the program simply doesn't try to lower case any words/letters? This wouldn't involve any analyzing of the pre-exsisting words/tags. Posted by: Magnus Brading on Feb. 08 2005,23:38 Wouldn't that be exactly the same as full uppercase mode? Posted by: fungi on Feb. 08 2005,23:47 Full uppercase is "word" to "WORD", right? I want "word" to "Word" with the exception of never lowercasing any words. Posted by: fungi on Feb. 08 2005,23:55 So I suppose it would be - Upper Case All First Characters In Words without any exceptions. No lowercasing. With the help of advanced rules to avoid mistakes - compounding atoms etc. There is a function like this in EAC, but it doesn't have the nice advanced rules you have, and it isn't a tagging program. ![]() Posted by: Magnus Brading on Feb. 09 2005,00:15 Ok, I see what you mean (but then you lied when you said "This wouldn't involve any analyzing of the pre-exsisting words/tags" though ![]() Posted by: KBKellyusa on Feb. 18 2005,18:35 I would also like to see this feature added. Thank You! Posted by: Guest on April 06 2005,03:09 Nice software. I just found it. I agree with these suggestions. I now have Ac/Dc instead of AC/DC. I can easily fix them manually so it is not a big problem. However, I don't know the name of everything in my collection so I can't realiably guess all the exceptions I need. end |
